Psychotherapy

Heidi works with adults and youth (16+). In her practice she addresses mental health concerns including: anxiety, depression, self-concept, chronic stress and symptoms of trauma. She believes that shifts in our self-concept can bring about lasting, meaningful change. She helps individuals who have often come to therapy for the first time and those that simply want to experience some enduring change.

By providing a non-judgmental environment for clients to explore themselves, she ensures as safe space for all. Heidi’s therapeutic style is being flexible, collaborative, and curious - helping her clients to attain growth and the desired shift in their lives. She strives to help individuals understand themselves better, and to explore their reactions to lived experiences.

Heidi has an MA(Psychology) from Carleton University and an MA(Counselling Psychology) from St. Paul’s University, and brings with her a strong background in research. One of her recent pursuits was assisting in using CBT with South Asian populations.

In her practice, she draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and incorporates mindfulness principles and practices. She believes in a flexible approach to helping clients achieve insight and change and reflects this in her sessions.

Heidi is a member of the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
